The team were lucky enough to be sent copies of the Eldar Shafir edited textbook ‘the Behavioural Foundations of Public Policy’.

The book contains contributions from many of the world’s greatest behavioural scientists – including Daniel Kahneman, Richard Thaler (who advises the Behavioural Insights Team), Cass Sunstein and George Loewenstein.

The focus of the book is on the policy relevance of behavioural science work, and covers both areas of research interest (e.g. social interactions) and policy areas (e.g. the justice system). It draws both on some of the classic papers in the literature, as well as more recent research. Feel free to leave your thoughts on specific chapters below.
